Drew Payne joined the faculty in the Department of Internal Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in July 2016 as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine. Dr. Payne teaches resident physicians through his role as Associate Program Director of Internal Medicine and medical students through his role as 4th year Clerkship Director. He also functions as an Academic Hospitalist and outpatient internist.
Dr. Payne has research primarily focusing on patient health at the clinic level and he has authored or co-authored over 50 peer reviewed articles, book chapters, and abstracts. He is currently the journal manager of The Southwest Respiratory and Critical Care Chronicles medical journal
