Dr. Elshafei is physician, faculty, and global health researcher focusing on mental health capacity building in low-resource settings. He is also an associate professor at Seattle Central College as well as Kaplan Medical. He has led large projects in collaboration with ministries, the World Health Organization, NGOs and academic partners in the Eastern Mediterranean region, Sub-Saharan Africa, and South Asia.
