Dr Ender Gedik works as an associate professor at the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation and Division of Intensive Care at Başkent University Faculty of Medicine. He has Diploma in Medicine (1994), Diploma in Anesthesiology and Reanimation (1996), Diploma in Intensive Care (2012). He certified in the Turkish Board of Anesthesiology and Reanimation (2011) and European Diploma in Critical Care-EDIC (2012) and Associated Professor at Anesthesiology (2017). His main medical fields of expertise areas are perioperative care, transplantation and organ donation, geriatric critical care, extra-corporeal therapies, hemodynamic monitorisation, clinical nutrition and infectious diseases. He is an active member of European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM), The Transplantation Society (TTS) and International College of Surgeons (fellowship-FICS). He works as a national vice coordinator of transplantation anesthesia course, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) course and international hemodynamic workshop of Başkent University. He awarded as ‘High Success Grant in Liver Transplantation’ at Inonu University in 2012. He worked actively in several research and projects in Turkey. The main project is: “TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR ALIGNMENT IN ORGAN DONATION PROJECT, 2014-2015” on the support of EU and Turkish Ministry of Health. He worked as a national junior expert in this project and actively educated 1500 medical specialists. He has been teaching students in the fields of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine. In addition, he has a big experience as a teacher for postgraduate students in these fields. He works in the ‘Postgraduate Education Committee of Başkent University Faculty of Medicine’. He is peer reviewer of several national and international medical journals in the field of his expertise.
