Dr. Jason Huang is neurosurgeon and Chairman of Department of Neurosurgery at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center. He has been appointed a full Professor of Surgery at Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine since 2014. He is known for his clinical and research work in nervous system injury and repair, including traumatic brain injury, spinal trauma and peripheral nerve injuries. Dr. Huang is also Director of Neuroscience Institute and holds the Plummer endowed Chair in Neuroscience. His main research interest lies in the field of nervous system injury and repair. His lab has received active extramural research funding including a prestigious R01 award from the National Institutes of Health and numerous federal and foundation grants. Dr. Huang has a general neurosurgery practice and performs surgeries for complex spinal disorders, brain tumors, peripheral nerve disorders and he also treats patients with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and cerebrovascular diseases.
