Dr Fahad Wali Ahmed is a Consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetes at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre · Madinah, Saudi Arabia. Dr Ahmed specializes in caring for patients with thyroid disorder, thyroid nodule and malignancy, parathyroid disorder, adrenal disorder, pituitary disorder, obesity, hypogonadism, PCOS, Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes.

Dr Ahmed graduated from Dow Medical University, Karachi, Pakistan. After completing General/Internal Medicine training in United Kingdom, Dr Ahmed joined South London specialist training programme for Diabetes and Endocrinology. Dr Ahmed completed his CCST in Endocrinology and Diabetes from London Deanery. Dr Ahmed has broad experience in managing all areas of endocrinology and diabetes.

He undertook three-year research at Newcastle University, leading to award of PhD. He has published in numerous peer-reviewed articles and presented abstract in conferences. His research interest includes regenerative medicine, endothelial progenitor cells, microparticles, microRNA and their function in relation to modifiable risk factors for cardiovascular disease in diabetes and endocrine disorders.
