About
Narendra Sing Thagunna was awarded his PhD in Cross-Cultural Psychology from Kumaun University, India. He has been teaching Psychology for 5 years at Department of Psychology, Padma Kanaya Campus and Tri-Chandra Campus, T.U, Nepal. Before this, he served as a principal in Khatyadi HSS (+2 level), Doti, Nepal for 5 years. He was involved in emergency Mental health Psychosocial Support in the refugee setting for four years as a psychosocial trainer. He also designed and facilitated more than fifteen modular training which is useful for emergency setting and community mental health. He is a suicide Prevention Activist in Nepal. He designed Suicide Prevention Facilitation Training (SPFT) and continuously contributing to suicide prevention in Nepal for 10 years.
Apart from publishing some articles in journals of national and international repute, he has chaired scientific sessions and invitee speaker in international conferences. He is actively dedicated in the field of Psychology and Mental Health in Nepal. He is the founder of The School of Psychology (TSOP) Nepal and founder vice president in Association of Psychologist in Nepal (APN). He is a member in different professional bodies like American Psychological Association (APA), International Association of Cross-Cultural Psychology (IACCP), International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP), National Academy of Psychology (NOAP).
He has also completed the “Workshop in Frontiers of Psychology for Southeast Asia Young Psychologist” sponsored by Bureau of international cooperation and organized by the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Science, China, Beijing. He regularly publishes his articles in the issues of mental health, suicide prevention and psychology in national dailies, and his interviews are broadcasted and telecasted in different national Televisions and Radios time and again. His research interest includes Cross-Cultural Psychology, Applied Social Psychology, Suicide Prevention, Emergency Mental Health, Parenting, and Psychotherapy.
