The PI is a cell biologist currently working as Associate professor at CIIRC, Bangalore. She has over 10 years of research experience in different domains of biology including Microbiology, genetics, molecular biology and cancer biology. She holds a MS and Ph.D Degree from University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), USA. During her Master’s program, she worked on bacterial host-pathogen interactions and during her PhD program, her research was focused on the mechanism of tumor cell metastasis with emphasis on cell junction proteins, which was awarded NIH grant. Currently, two of her PhD students are working on developing electrochemical biosensors for the detection of B. thuringiensis and amyloid β peptide which are implicated in Alzheimer’s disease. Also, screen printed electrodes are being explored to detect redox changes in cancer cells.
