Cassidy Foley Davelaar, DO, FAAP, CAQSM is a Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital trained Sports Medicine and Pediatric Orthopedic physician. She is a part of the Division of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando. Dr. Foley Davelaar has been able to pursue her passion, assisting young athletes in becoming engaged and returning healthy to physical activity. She is a medical provider at the United States Tennis Association National Campus.

Prior to Nemours, Dr. Foley Davelaar served as the physician for the Atlanta Ballet. She also cared for athletes at the Boston Ballet, the U.S. Figure Skating Association, the Boston Marathon and several high schools. She has worked closely with Boston Conservatory of the Arts, Trinity College and Northeastern University. She was a D1 varsity athlete at Columbia University, where she obtained her bachelors degree. She went on to graduate from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and complete a residency in pediatrics at the University of Connecticut’s Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford.

Dr. Foley Davelaar strives to provide exceptional care to the youngest athletes in the clinic, community and in the classroom. She is an assistant professor at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. She enjoys teaching, and performing research. Dr. Foley Davelaar earned awards for her research during her fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Boston Children’s Hospital and at the University of New England. She has authored several chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals on topics including; young athletes, overuse injuries, injury prevention, concussion management, tennis injuries, figure skating injuries and the female athlete. She has been invited to present her research results in podium and poster formats at national and international meetings. She is one of the founding members of Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine (PRISM), serves on the membership committee of the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine (AMSSM) and on the Council of Sports Medicine and Fitness at the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has spoken and/or been interviewed for her specific area of expertise by Pointe Magazine, Bottomline Health, the Tennis Channel and the Society of Tennis Medicine and Science.

Dr. Foley Davelaar is double board certified in Pediatrics and Sports Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics.
