About

I am currently appointed as an Associate Professor of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Kansas University Medical Center. My interests are very wide and varied. In the beginning of my career I was very involved in pediatric global health research and played a significant part in the Global Burden of Disease project, and co-authored papers that were eventually published in Lancet in 2012. I also authored expert reviews on the subject of global scale of neonatal sepsis. Subsequently I have also done basic science research looking at the role of micro-nutrients such as Zinc in murine models of pediatric sepsis. Of late, I have published clincial research in the field of pediatric intensive care, notably exploring the use of point of care ultrasound in pediatric ICU setting for diagnosing pulmonary pathologies, and the use of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation for unilateral lung diseases. I also have a keen interest in expanding the role of AI and Machine Learning in ICU settings and I am obtaining a degree in computer sciences with focus on AI/ML.
