Born and raised in NYC, PhD in molecular biology at CU Boulder. After stints at Rutgers, Stanford and biotech, I am now a professor and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in translational genomics at UBC, Vancouver. My work on drug-gene and drug-environment interactions ranges from yeast to human. I have an ongoing collaboration with NASA to understand the effect of the space environment on the drug response. 185 peer-reviewed publications and 8 issued patents. I am passionate about using genomic technology to improve health and wellness. Outside of the lab I like paragliding and have run 27 marathons.
