Dr. Hatan Mortada is a plastic surgery resident in the Saudi Plastic Surgery Residency Program (SB-PLAST) at King Saud University Medical City, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (SA). Dr. Mortada completed a Bachelor's Degree in Medicine & Surgery with an overall grade of Excellent and an honor's degree from the Faculty of Medicine, King Abdul Aziz University and he was also granted the dean's list award. His residency training is sponsored by an honorary scholarship from King Saud Medical City in Riyadh. In 2022, he was awarded as the best plastic surgery resident at King Saud University Medical City. Multiple awards were given to Dr. Mortada for his research. Two years in a row, he won for best research oral presentation during plastic surgery residents' research day, second place for poster presentation at the first outstanding scientific poster presentation day, and first and third place for the best research presentation at the 6th international conference of the Saudi Scientific Association of Plastic Surgery and Burns. Dr. Mortada has published more than 80 scientific publications. Additionally, he is a resident ambassador and resident advisory board member for the world's leading plastic surgery journal, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal, and PRS Global Open. He is a member of the Saudi Plastic Surgery Care Society and the Saudi Scientific Association of Plastic surgery and Burns. Also, he is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), as well as the International Society of Plastic Surgery (ISAPS). In 2021, Dr. Mortada founded the first plastic surgery interest club in Saudi Arabia, under the supervision of the Saudi scientific association for plastic surgery and burns, and is currently its president.
