I completed medical school at Penn State University Medical School in 1975. I did my residency and fellowship at UC San Diego, training in Neuropathology under Peter Lampert, MD. I practiced briefly at Sharp Hospital in San Diego before moving to the Bay Area, where I practiced at UCSF, then California Pacific Medical Center before moving to Sacramento and UC Davis in 2000.
