About

When I trained in surgery and helped care for battle-injured soldiers, I developed a passion for the reconstructive surgeries done to treat their devastating wounds. I was a general surgeon for 2 years and deployed to Afghanistan with a small team in austere and dangerous environments.

I returned to Baltimore to train under leaders in plastic surgery learning microvascular free tissue transfer, hand surgery, treatment of congenital and acquired craniofacial deformities, and cosmetic surgery. I stayed at Johns Hopkins for a fellowship to gain subspecialty expertise in rhinoplasty and nasal reconstruction, facial reanimation, head & neck microsurgery, Mohs reconstruction, ear reconstruction, and CMF trauma. I had a keen interest in ethnically-sensitive facial aesthetic procedures. I visited Seoul, Korea, as an international Clinical Fellow in Oculoplastic Surgery, and developed distinct skills in Asian eyelid and orbital surgery. My diverse mentors also trained me in unique aspects of rhinoplasty and facial surgery in patients of African, Asian, Persian, and Hispanic descent.

My practice in plastic surgery is comprehensive, but I have a particular interest in challenging craniomaxillofacial procedures. My expertise is often sought in revision rhinoplasty, where there are deformities or breathing problems from a previous surgery; head and neck reconstruction needed because of cancer or trauma; and cases of facial paralysis. I also see a lot of patients with migraine headaches, and have an interest in innovative treatments, including nerve-decompressing headache relief surgeries.

I am doubly certified by both the Am Board of Surgery and Am Board of Plastic Surgery. I am a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of the Am Society of Plastic Surgeons.
