About

Assistant Professor of Biology and Biochemistry Andrea Paola Rojas Gil is recognized for her research on cell biology, molecular biochemistry, molecular biology and metabolic studies on different models.
Her initial studies concerned DNA repair systems in yeasts and heat shocks system in insects. From 2000 she focuses her studies on the molecular endocrinology and metabolism using DNA analysis and molecular biology of the signal transduction of hormones pathways and the regulation of protein expression in endocrine disorders.
Moreover, she focuses her studies in the influence of the life style in the expression of proteins related to endocrine disorders in childhood. Her expertise includes the study of molecular signal pathways in endocrinological pathologies such as growth hormone deficiency, thyroid dysfunction, obesity and diabetes.
The result of her studies are 34 publications in quality peer reviewed international journals, 7 publications in peer reviewed Greek journals, 19 Awards from Scientific Associations, Greek and International congresses concerning her research activity in the field of molecular endocrinology, 380 citations, 94 participations in international congresses and 143 participations in Greek congresses.
