About

Fellowship-trained Orthopaedic surgeon currently pursuing the career as clinical Assistant Professor at Kerala Institute of Health Sciences, Kerala, South India.

Had undergone my fellowship in musculoskeletal trauma at National University Hospital, Singapore and in Minimal access Hip Arthroplasty at Rizzoli Institute, Italy.

Clinical research is my active domain and I am actively engaged as Principal Investigator of the Prestigious Population Health Research Institute(PHRI), Canada, which is one of the world’s best epidemiological institutes. I am currently heading two international multicentric randomized controlled trials, HIP ATTACK and POISE 3.

HIP ATTACK is an international randomized controlled trial of 3000 patients with a hip fracture that requires surgical intervention. This trial had brought out the effect of accelerated medical clearance and accelerated surgery compared to standard care on the 90-day risk of mortality and major perioperative complication. This is nearing the final follow-up. The above study has featured in The Lancet, February 2020 issue.

POISE-3 study is a 10,000 patient, multicentre, international, non-inferiority randomized controlled trial of tranexamic acid (TXA) versus placebo and, using a partial factorial design, of a perioperative hypotension-avoidance versus hypertension- avoidance strategy. The above trial started just a couple of months back.

I have authored a chapter on Tenosynovial Giant Cell Tumour in Orthopedic Oncosurgery: Approach to Bone and Soft Tissue tumours, shortly to be published by Springer.

Also, I am actively involved with the Journal of Orthopaedics, pubmed indexed, Elsevier peer-reviewed journal ranked No.1 from India. My path began in 2017, and I am delighted to notify you that I received the ELSEVIER OUTSTANDING REVIEWER Certificate in 2018 in recognition of my outstanding contribution to the journal.

I also review for the Journal of Medical Case Reports, an open-access peer-reviewed medical journal publishing case reports and research on case reports. It is published by BioMed Central and abstracted and indexed in CINAHL and Scopus.
