About
I am a transplant infectious disease specialist. My research involves study of infections in the organ and stem-cell transplant host, with specific focus on mechanical circulatory support (MCS) and post-heart transplant infections. My current work focuses on study of infection risk factors, impact of bacterial drug-resistance and fungal infections in this population; as a way to develop guidance on infection prevention and management. I am an active member of AST IDCOP since my fellowship, and have published peer-reviewed articles, reviewed scientific papers and have participated in several multicenter research projects related to transplant infectious diseases. Within the AST IDCOP, I lead the MCS infection group and served as reviewer for the 2019 cardiac device infection guidelines.
