About

The lack of basic medical knowledge is what drew me to STEM and what constantly motivates me. As a child watching your mother suffer from her schizophrenic delusion and constantly being her caretaker made me want to make a difference for those with psychological issues. At Bergen CC I tried looking for research that had a biological/medical component and by off chance I literally found one that was neuroscience based.

Over the last few years, I not only joined my research group but I was its Chief Research Associate and eventually the Research Coordinator through sheer diligence. I presented at least 18 times in research symposiums as a freshman and sophomore. I won many awards of excellence for my research studies in Neuroscience. Also, received an invitation to go to Shanghai China for an IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society Neural Engineering Conference May 2017.

Now, we finished working on our 3rd research study our main objective is to allow students to document quantitative changes in EEG (QEEG) using the application of Neurofeedback, Infraslow Fluctuation (ISF) and other stimulus paradigms. Changes can be observed and measured through behavioral, neurophysiological and psychological changes in response to a variety of stimuli. As of October 2018 we won 1st place at the Metropolitan Association of College and University Biologists (MACUB) in categories of Microbiology and Physiology.

Experience in the clinical and non-clinical sectors, shaped me into being a phenomenal worker, courageous leader, and someone who you can rely on. Currently, I'm a Pre-Physician Assistant (PA) student planning on pursuing my Master's Degree. Looking to focus my career perhaps in the realm of Neurology and specifically in Clinical Neurophysiology.
