Dr. Eldisugi Hassan Mohammed Humida serves as a consultant cardiologist and occupies the position of associate professor of medicine and cardiology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kordofan, El-Obeid, Sudan. Dr. Humida is a leading expert in cardiology, particularly interventional cardiology and epidemiology. He is a committed academic and researcher, making substantial contributions to medical science through a variety of publications in reputable journals indexed in Web of Science, PubMed, and Scopus. His work reflects a dedication to enhancing cardiovascular health and elevating patient care standards. Through his teaching, research, and clinical expertise, he significantly contributes to the education of future healthcare professionals. Furthermore, Dr. Humida holds the responsibility of training frontline healthcare providers at the training center at El-Obeid International Hospital, in addition to directing the cardiac catheterization laboratory at the same institution, where he has performed thousands of percutaneous coronary interventions and pacemaker implantations for Sudanese patients. Nearly all of the operations incurred no fees. Additionally, Dr. Humida conducted thousands of lifesaving procedures while serving the entire country during the Sudan armed conflict from 2023 to 2025, a period marked by extreme disaster that compelled many trained healthcare providers to depart the country. Dr. Humida steadfastly maintained his position alongside his family in the face of significant pressures and the onset of a brutal and destabilizing conflict, providing essential life-saving interventions when numerous others were compelled to evacuate. Dr. Humida and his family made substantial contributions to the integrity of the delicate health system throughout this challenging period in our nation's history.
