He was graduated from School of Medicine, Ankara University, Turkey and in 2007 Ankara University, School of Medicine he completed his specialization in Anatomy. He was promoted as an “Associate Professor of Anatomy” in June 2012 and joined the faculty of Ankara University, School of Medicine, Department of Anatomy. In February 2018 was promoted as Professor of Anatomy in the same department where he currently works. Since 2013 he serves as Ankara University School of Medicine Erasmus vice Coordinator and since February 2015 as School of Medicine Erasmus Coordinator. In 2014 he was research fellow in University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Skull base center, Surgical Neuroanatomy Lab, Skull Base Anatomy, Pittsburgh, USA. As a researcher on surgical anatomy, in 2016, he visits and was working as an observing doctor for a month in Salzburger Landeskliniken – Universitätsklinikum Salzburg at the Universitätsklinik für Hals-Nasen-Ohren-Krankheiten, Salzburg, Austria.
He is author or coauthor more than hundred international original peer-review papers, seven book chapters. He is a member of the European Association of Clinical Anatomy and served as Auditing Board Member of Turkish Society of Anatomy and Clinical Anatomy (TSACA) between 2014 and 2016.
He serves as associate editor of spine and medulla section of “Surgical and Radiological Anatomy” and is in editorial board and reviewer of many national or international journals. He was invited speaker in many international meetings and symposiums. His scientific fields of interest are surgical neuroanatomy, spinal anatomy, bone-implant biomechanics and clinical anatomy.
