Date of birth: 4-3-1972
Place of birth: Patras, Greece

University studies (1991-1997): After successful entrance exams in 1991, I enrolled in the Medical School of Ioannina, Greece and graduated in 1997 receiving an M.D. degree.
Internship (1998): After graduation I had 1 year internship as a general practitioner at the Medical Center of Ithaca, Ithaca, Greece.
Military service (1999-2000): I performed my obligatory military service in the Greek War Navy for 21 months. After graduation from the Special School of Submarines, I served for 14 months in the Special Forces of the Navy as a crew member of several Greek submarines. Another 6 months I served as a physician-clinical fellow in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Naval Hospital of Crete Island, Greece.
Residency - Specialization in Internal Medicine (2001-2002): I had a one and a half year residency (senior house officer) in the Department of Internal Medicine at the General Hospital of Arta, Greece.

Specialization in Cardiology (2002-2006): I worked for 4 years as a registrar in the Department of Cardiology at the ‘G.Hatzikosta’ General Hospital of Ioannina, Greece. On 20 December 2006 I successfully passed the Cardiology Board and on 10 January 2007 I was awarded the title of “Specialist in Cardiology”
Postgraduate education – Doctorate Degree (2002-2006): On March 2006 I successfully supported my thesis and subsequently I received the doctorate degree (Ph.D.) by the Medical School of the University of Ioannina. The research project of my thesis was the study of inflammation and oxidative stress in atrial fibrillation.
Locum posts
I worked as a locum consultant in the Department of Cardiology of the University Hospital of Ioannina for 1 year (March 2007- March 2008). My main duties were in the Coronary Care Unit. I was also involved in the implantation of pacemakers, ICDs as well as in electrophysiology.
Fellowship Abroad
I had a fellowship for 1 year working as a locum specialist registrar in the Cardiology Department / Arrhythmia Service of the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne, U.K. (March 2008 – February 2009). I actively involved in the management and care of patients with all forms of arrhythmia, pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, CRT devices and implantable loop recorders. I also worked in out-patient medical arrhythmia clinics, device follow-up clinics, and device follow-up clinics. I had an extensive experience of device implantation, device programming, and the medical management of arrhythmia patients.

Current position (March 2009- today):
I currently have an academic post (Lecturer in Cardiology March 2009- May 2013, Assistant Professor of Cardiology May 2013) in the Department of Cardiology, University of Ioannina Medical School, and also I am working as a consultant (arrhythmia and electrophysiological device specialist) in the Department of Cardiology of the University Hospital of Ioannina.

IMPLANTATION of EP DEVICES: Approximately 1,800 Pacemakers, 300 ICDs, 140 CRT-Ds, 90 ILRs, 3 leadless pacemakers

EHRA Accreditation – European Cerification in Pacemakers and ICDs
