Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor K.B. Petrov has been heading the Department of Exercise Therapy and Physiotherapy since 1998.

Professor Petrov is a specialist in rehabilitation. The main areas of his scientific activity concern the treatment of neurological manifestations of spinal osteochondrosis, rehabilitation of movement disorders in facial nerve neuropathy, cerebrovascular disease and spinal cord injury.

In recent years, together with his students, he has been actively studying non-specific reflex-muscle syndromes in pathology of the motor system, in particular, the cerebral mechanisms of reflex scoliosis in patients with dorsopathy.
In total, he has published more than 300 scientific and methodological works, including four monographs, and received 12 patents for inventions.

Under the supervision of K.B. Petrov, 3 candidate and 1 doctoral dissertations were defended, and several more candidate works are being carried out in the specialties of "neurology" and "restorative medicine". Professor K.B. Petrov, being a neurologist of the highest category.
