I am Dr. Shijitha R, a dedicated academician and researcher in the field of Biomedical Instrumentation Engineering at the School of Engineering, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore. With a strong passion for teaching and innovation, I actively contribute to academic development, curriculum enhancement, and student success.
My research interests include biosignal processing (EEG and ECG analysis), biomedical devices, wearable health monitoring systems, point-of-care testing (POCT), AI applications in healthcare, and digital health innovations. I have been involved in the design and development of AI-driven systems for fall detection and elderly safety, and I explore the integration of IoT, cloud computing, and biosensors for smart healthcare solutions.
In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I serve in various institutional roles including NPTEL/SWAYAM Coordinator, NAAC and ARIIA Committee Member, Placement Coordinator, and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) Member. I have successfully organized national workshops, faculty development programs (FDPs), and student innovation activities, fostering interdisciplinary learning and research collaboration.
