Brian is a Quality and Patient Safety Specialist at Niagara Health. He provides leadership and support in the planning, implementation, and management of quality improvement processes, for the 2nd busiest ED in Ontario (over 200K visits annually). In 2017, Brian and the Niagara Health team received the Excellence in Patient Safety Award (CCHL) for the Venous Thromboembolism Prophylaxis project. Previously, he has led the Canadian Never Events initiative at Niagara Health for Surgical Program. Brian holds an M.P.A. in Health Policy and Management from New York University (NYU) and a B.Com in Commerce from Queen's University. He is also a Certified Health Executive (CHE) and has received certification in incident analysis, quality improvement, and risk management from ISMP, Harvard/IHI, and McMaster, respectively.
