About

I am a general surgeon. My research interests include surgical site infections, antimicrobial resistance, and surgical outcomes.

I contributed to a published study titled "Surgical Site Infection at a Central Academic Hospital in Johannesburg: A One-year Audit" (Journal of Surgery, 2022), which investigated the incidence, causative organisms, and risk factors of surgical site infections (SSIs) in a tertiary hospital. Key findings included a 4.8% SSI rate, predominance of E. coli and P. aeruginosa, and associations with comorbidities like diabetes. This work underscores the importance of targeted infection prevention strategies in surgical care.

Moving forward, I aim to expand my research in the same field focusing on improving surgical protocols, global health disparities, and antibiotic stewardship to enhance patient outcomes and healthcare systems.
