Dr. Peela Jagannadha Rao obtained PhD in Human Genetics from Andhra University and MD in Biochemistry in 2000 from Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam,India. He worked as a civil assistant surgeon for the Andhrapradesh government, later joining Andhra Medical College as an Assistant Professor. During his tenure, Dr Rao was assigned as a Special Medical officer in a WHO funded project named “Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme” for three years.Subsequently he worked as a Clinical Biochemist, and on the faculty of several medical schools before his current position at St.Matthew’s University as Associate Professor in Department of Biochemistry and Medical Genetics. Dr Rao is actively involved in clinical research in several areas of Medicine and has published 57 research papers in various peer-reviewed open access and international journals with 300 citations. In addition, he has given 38 presentations in several International conferences including in the USA, UAE, and Europe. Dr. Rao is a Ph.D. examiner for two universities in India, as well as an editorial board member and a verified reviewer of multiple medical journals.
