Dr.Vishnu Garla is currently an Assistant professor of medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, Mississippi. He is also the Associate program director of the Endocrinology fellowship program, Pituitary clinic director (Endocrine) as well as the Endocrine rotation director for family medicine. He complete his medical school at JJM Medical College, Karnataka, India. He complete his residency in Internal medicine-Pediatrics at the Marshall University School of Medicine. After residency he completed an Endocrinology fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Dr.Garla has served as a chief resident for the Internal Medicine Pediatrics program at Marshall Univeristy,and has also been involved in the Graduate medical education committee. He has also been a part of the Endocrine Board Review Committee and the Young Physicians Subcommittee at AACE. Besides presenting at various national and regional conferences he has also published in several peer reviewed journals. He serves as a peer reviewer for many journals and is also a country associate editor for Endotext.org. His current research interests are neuroendocrinolgy and bone & metabolic disorders.
