Dr. Matheus Ballestero is a neurosurgeon with a distinguished academic and professional background. He graduated in Medicine from the University of São Paulo (USP), Ribeirão Preto Campus, in 2007. He completed his residency in Neurosurgery at the Hospital das Clínicas of the same institution in 2012. He obtained a Masters degree in Surgical Clinics from the Ribeirão Preto Medical School - USP in 2016 and a Doctorate in Sciences from the same school in 2021. In 2023, he completed his postdoctoral studies, deepening his expertise in artificial intelligence.Currently, Dr. Ballestero practices neurosurgery in Araraquara-SP, providing services both within the Unified Health System (SUS) and in private practice, with an emphasis on pediatric neurosurgery. He is an active member of the Brazilian Society of Neurosurgery (SBN), the Brazilian Academy of Neurosurgery (ABNC), the Brazilian Society of Pediatric Neurosurgery (SBNPed), the International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ISPN), and the Latin American Association of Pediatric Neurosurgery (ASOLANPED). In addition to his clinical work, he is dedicated to teaching as an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar).Dr. Ballestero also contributes to the scientific literature as Managing Editor and Section Editor of Trauma and Infections for the journal Archives of Pediatric Neurosurgery (APN).
