About

Elaine Khoong graduated summa cum laude from the Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology at the University of Pennsylvania in 2007 with BS from the Wharton School of Business and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. She graduated with majors in healthcare management and policy, business and public policy, and biomedical sciences. Following graduation, she served as a high school teacher for two years in Chicago with Teach For America.

In 2009, she began her medical education at Washington University. She spent the 2011-12 academic year as a TL1 predoctoral research scholar working at the Prevention Research Center in St Louis. Her research that year focused on mediators that impact physician preventive service guideline adherence in rural, suburban, and urban settings. She also assisted with research projects focused on models for dissemination & implementation as well as obesity prevention efforts in local health departments.

Elaine hopes to use her past experiences and future clinical experiences to work on developing evidence-based solutions to deliver cost-effective, high quality care to underserved urban populations.
