Dr. Francesco Valente graduated from the University of Perugia, Italy, in 1988. Over the course of his career, he has authored numerous publications in leading scientific and professional journals and has lectured extensively at national and international conferences, with a particular focus on implant dentistry and the computer-assisted planning of implant treatments. His current professional and scientific activity is dedicated to the application of CT-derived treatment planning and its integration in the design of surgical and restorative templates, contributing to the advancement of computer-guided oral implantology. In 2004, Dr. Francesco Valente conceived and initiated the founding of the Computer Aided Implantology Academy (CAI Academy), a non-profit, pioneering international institution in the field of computer-guided implantology, and subsequently invited Prof. Andrea Mascolo (St. Julian’s, Malta) and Dr. Lucio Valente (Caracas, Venezuela) to serve as co-founders. He served as President during the 2005–2006 biennium, playing a decisive role in guiding the Academy through its formative years. In addition, he served as President of the Board of Arbitrators of the CAI Academy during the quadrennia 2007–2010, 2011–2014, 2021–2024, and 2026–2029, being each time reconfirmed in office by unanimous vote. He is also a founding member of the Simplant Academy, where he has played a pioneering role in the adoption and development of cutting-edge digital technologies for implant treatment planning. Dr. Valente is an Active Member of the Academy of Osseointegration (AO) and of the Computer Aided Implantology Academy (CAI Academy), as well as a member of the Italian Society of Periodontology (SIdP) and the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP). In academia, he was appointed Visiting Professor at the University of Padova, Italy, where he taught Computer Assisted Oral Implant Surgery in the postgraduate program in 2008 and 2010. Since 2011, he has served as Medical Director of the San Damiano Dental Clinic in Rome, Italy, while maintaining a private practice limited to Oral Surgery, Oral Implantology, and Periodontics.
