Xiao Chi (Tony) Zhang, MD, MS is currently one of the Medical Education Fellows at the Thomas Jefferson University with an interdisciplinary background in mechanical engineering (Tufts '08, B.S.), biomedical engineering (Tufts '09 M.S.) and medicine (Tufts '13, M.D.).

Dr. Zhang graduated from the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where he was a dedicated and productive resident with an academic interest in medical education, simulation, and community outreach. During his 4-year training, Tony was appointed as a junior faculty at the Alpert Medical School for the Doctoring Program, the EMRA Simulation Division Chair, as well as the CORD Student Advisory Task Force - Team Advising Leader. He has received numerous institutional and national scholarships for his research in medical education, simulation, and quality improvement projects, including a novel bedside procedural surface designed, fabricated, and tested for in-situ use in the Emergency Department.

Dr. Zhang will be continuing his career path in education with two, 2-year post-graduate training programs at Jefferson University (Medical Education Fellowship) and the University of Illinois of Chicago (Master of Health Profession).
