Dr. Ashok Kumar is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Associate Dean at AIIMS Bhopal. He received his PhD degree from Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow. Subsequently, he received his postdoctoral training at Texas A&M Health Science Centre, Temple, TX (USA) and UCSF-Benioff Children Hospital Oakland, CA USA). His major research interest is Cancer Biology, Sphingolipid signaling and Tumor Immunology. He has completed several extramural research projects and funded by DST, SERB, ICMR and DRDO. He has published more than 100 articles in the peer reviewed International Journals of repute. He has also published four edited books and 25 book chapters in the book. He is a Fellow of Royal Society of Biology (FRSB), London. He has received several awards including Prof. SS Agarwal Award for excellence in Research. He is an Associate Editor of Frontiers of Molecular Biosciences, Section Editor of Future Health Journal and Editorial board member of several International Journals.
