I am a University Teacher working in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. I am appointed a Professor of Orthodontics at the Department of Orthodontics, University of Damascus Faculty of Dentistry, Damascus, Syria. My first degree was a DDS, granted from the University of Aleppo, Faculty of Dentistry, in 1995 with Distinction. I was the top student at graduation, with the highest graduate average mark in the country. Postgraduate orthodontic training was accomplished between 1995-1998. Between 1999-2003, I did my Ph.D. research on orthognathic surgery and graduated from the University of Glasgow (UK) in July 2003. I obtained another MSc degree in Health and Social Care Research from the University of Sheffield, Faculty of Health and Related Research, in Oct. 2013. In addition to my University's ordinary undergraduate teaching, I supervise MSc and Ph.D. students in Orthodontics and other related specialties. I have completed research supervision on more than 30 MSc and Ph.D. research projects. I have been in orthodontic training for MSc postgraduate students for over 20 years, covering all different topics in orthodontics. Concerning international publications, I have published more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals indexed on PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. I have more than ten published textbooks in Orthodontics as well as in Research Methodology in the Arabic language.
