Dr. Eason is from Jackson, TN. He received a BS from David Lipscomb University and MD from the University of Tennessee. Following Medical school, he did a general surgery residency in the Air Force at Wildford Hall Medical Center and served 11 years active duty in the USAF being discharged as a major. He did his transplant fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He previously served as Chief of Transplantation at Wilford Hall Medical Center for 3 years and as Chief of Transplantation at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans for 8 years. Dr. Eason returned to his alma mater UTHSC to become Chief of Transplantation following hurricane Katrina. He specializes in liver and kidney transplantation with research interests in steroid-free liver transplantation and renal insufficiency in liver transplantation. He is currently on the American Society of Transplant Surgeons Council and is an Associate editor for the American Journal of Transplantation and Liver Transplantation. He also serves on the UNOS Liver and Intestine Transplant Committee and the Surgery and Liver Transplant Committee of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.



Dr. Eason has two daughters, Sydney who is a senior at Hutchison and Claire who is a freshman at Hutchison School.
