Autism: The Obscure Puzzle
Abstract
Instances of autism continue to increase around the world. Meanwhile, some parents overlook the symptoms due to social issues. This shortcoming coupled with doctors’ failure to provide good treatment can result in the individual being deprived of a quality life. According the search, autistic individuals have numerous gifted talents, many of which are not common in a normal human being. However, if not provided with quality treatment or intervention programs, their talents may remain unrecognized. To provide adequate treatment, the key etiology of autism must be discovered. This paper categorizes and analyses the importance of discovering the etiology of autism to provide quality treatment. Overall, nine articles and many other sources were used in the research. A review of the literature was developed to evaluate the theories of etiologies explored to date and their validity. The lack of research in etiology of autism with suitable evidence has been identified as a gap in the research. For autism to establish as a “difference rather than a deficit,” research on the etiology of autism must go on to grant autistic individuals a better life.
