Peripheral Infusion of the Peptide Hormone Amylin and Its Clinical Candidate Analog, PSN0041, Produces Antidepressant Effects Without Sexual Side Effects

Abstract

We have recently discovered antidepressant-like effects of the peptide hormone amylin in both mouse and rat preclinical models. PSN0041 is a unique, first-in-class peptide with enhanced pharmacological properties over native amylin, and is anticipated to differentiate from current marketed antidepressants through lack of sexual side effects and weight loss.
