Interventional Pain Management: Approach and behavior

Abstract

Pain Management is a specialty itself. Sometimes spine surgeons refer patients to pain specialist for interventional pain management. Some of the referred patients have contraindication to injections , like presence of infection. Some are on anticoagulants. Others use herbals which have same effect of anticoagulants.

Pain specialist must take full history and examination before any decision. He must have good knowledge in reading the MRI. He must know the red flags. The approach includes knowing the pharmacology of drugs and the effects of herbals too.

It is an interactive presentation, with questions and answers with the audience, and Sherlock Holmes music, and his successor.
