Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia: A Shocking Case of Tongue Pain


Abstract

This is a unique case report of a 71-year-old female presents with sharp, shock-like pain in the inferior aspect of the left tongue. The poster describes the patient's initial clinical presentation, clinical course, diagnostic evaluation and treatment. Management issues are discussed, as well as epidemiology and background of glossopharyngeal neuralgia. Key learning points in the case are discussed as well.
