Papers in medical journals drive decision-making throughout world-wide healthcare. These research papers and the physicians who read them determine on which medical devices, pharmaceuticals and procedures the $2.7 trillion annual US healthcare budget is spent. And yet, the system used to publish these papers is broken, it is very slow, closed and balkanized. It is based on a system that has been in place for over 200 years and is in need of a major refresh.

The Mission

Curēus is launching a revolution that will free cutting-edge medical knowledge for the benefit of the world. Papers are published in days or weeks, not months or years. We take the peer review process online and leverage cutting edge tools. Publishing is free. Reading is free - there will be no "paywalls". Authors maintain their copyright and may republish elsewhere. The review process continues after publication, so we may identify the best science over the long term. Papers have a potential readership of millions instead of just the few thousand subscribers to a particular niche journal.

Curēus is based in Palo Alto, California. Our team includes world-renowned physicians, highly successful entrepreneurs, and experts on physician-centric technology, social media and Agile software development. It is privately funded and has a very profitable business model.
