About
I am 25 years experienced neurosurgeon, Venezuelan by birth. English and Spanish speaker. I graduated from the Universidad Central de Venezuela with specialization in Neurosurgery, tittle awarded by the Miguel Perez Carreño Hospital in 1986, the most prestigious public hospital in Neurosurgery in the country. I work as neurosurgeon since then. I went to Specialized neurosurgical Center at Presbterian University Hospital, University of Pittsburgh in 1992 where I received training in stereotactic, functional neurosurgery and Radiosurgery, adquiring clinical and research experience for two year. After that period I was Visitng assistant professor for 2 and a half years more. During those years I performed more than 1.000 stereotactic radiosurgeries and procedures related with stereotactic biopsies, guided craniotomies for tumor and vascular malformations resections, and functional neurosurgery (trigeminal neuralgia, Parkinson disease). I have worked in 4 private major Healthcare institutions and run diagnostic and therapeutic unit specializing in stereotactic procedures, surgery for Parkinson Disease (DBS), microsurgery and Radiosurgery. I have supported and monitored residents in all those proecedures and tehniques, maintaining the continuous development and improvement in those areas of neurosurgery. My experience and performance have allowed me to participate as surgeon and lecturer in Neurosurgery Congresses as well as in Radiosurgery Congresses to impart my knowledge and skills acquired to specialists and students.
