About
I graduated in Medicine in 2015 and completed my Ophthalmology residency in 2019, followed by a fellowship in cataract & refractive surgery in 2021. Over two years, I performed a high volume of cataract and pterygium surgeries in remote regions of Brazil, which inspired my dedication to research and academia.
Currently, I serve as Vice-Coordinator of a residency program and as a surgical instructor specializing in cataract, pterygium, and refractive surgeries. My PhD project, supported by FAPESP (Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo), focuses on pterygium in the Brazilian Amazon region, comparing surgical techniques and their impact on patient satisfaction and quality of life.
My primary goal is to publish my research in indexed journals to formally join the PhD program in Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
