Dr. Ragni Kumari was born on February 15, 1986, in Gopalganj, Bihar, India, and received her primary education in her hometown. She earned her Bachelor of Clinical Optometry from Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune, and her Master of Clinical Optometry from Amity University, Haryana. In addition, she holds an MBA in Hospital Management and Supply Chain Management. Dr. Kumari completed her Ph.D. in Public Health from Amity Institute of Public Health, Amity University, Noida, U.P. in December 2023. She currently works as an Eye Examination Officer at Combined Hospital, Thakurganj, Lucknow, and has previously held positions as Head of Department and Assistant Professor in the Department of Optometry at Era University, Lucknow. Dr. Kumari is a member of the Society for Allied Health and Healthcare Professional's Education and Research at Era University, Lucknow, and has 15 years of clinical and academic experience. She has also worked as a Senior Consultant Optometrist in various organizations and has organized numerous national and international conferences. Dr. Kumari has authored over 70 articles and research papers for national and international journals, as well as written book chapters and books on medical science. She is a member of the Optometry Council of India and an International Contact Lens Educator in Australia, and teaches various subjects to Diploma, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate Optometry students.Furthermore, Dr. Kumari has authored four book chapters and three books focusing on medical science. She has shared her expertise as a guest faculty member at various conferences, and is an active member of the Optometry Council of India and an International Contact Lens Educator in Australia. Dr. Kumari imparts knowledge on Contact Lens, Indian Medicine & Telemedicine, Binocular Vision & Orthoptics, Dispensing Optics, and Public Health to Diploma, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate Optometry students. Her research interests span across contact lenses, public health, cataracts, and dispensing optics. As a co-author, she has contributed to the "Handbook of Ocular Terminology" by Kavya Publication and the "Textbook of Clinical Optometry" by Taurean Publication. In addition, she has authored a book chapter titled "Challenges in Eye Care Services and Deliveries during the COVID-19 Pandemic - An Overview" in the Special Issue on Covid-19 by Ramaiah Group of Educational Institution in collaboration with the University of Illinois, U.S.A, and the University of Manitoba, Canada. These publications are highly recommended in Optometry Schools across India. Dr. Kumari has also written chapters and articles for various other books and magazines. She actively serves as a reviewer for journals like Web of Science, Acta Scientific Ophthalmology journal, and the International Journal of Creative Research Thought (IJCRT). Her dedication lies in conducting research, continuous learning, and supporting others.
