About

I obtained my Ph.D. in politics from the University of Virginia before holding postdoctoral positions in psychology at UCLA and government/inequality at Harvard, all supported by the National Science Foundation. I am ICPSR-certified in field experiments. My experiences as a family member of a then-undiagnosed lupus patient and later as the head of a lupus patient support group chapter informed my dissertation research on a diagnosis decision support tool. My PhD research also extended my keen interest in AI to other case studies. I have published on lie detectors (e.g., as co-creator of iborderctrl.no), spoken on Internet freedom, and been an outspoken voice of first principles and sound science when it comes to technology. I became interested in the scientific evidence on breastfeeding after my healthy, full-term son suffered excessive weight loss due to insufficient milk intake.
