About

Currently I serve as the Senior Associate Dean, Educational Affairs University of Florida College of Medicine Jacksonville. I am an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine. I have been involved in resident and student education since the mid 1980s. My clinical practice involves the care of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I became involved in providing care for adults with disabilities after working with a pediatrician to develop a transition clinic to assist youth with chronic medical conditions to adult primary providers. As the clinic evolved it was evident that many of these youth and young adults would not be able to successfully transition to an adult provider and manage their own health. In 2013, the Program for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disability (PAIDD) Clinic was started to assist caregivers in the management of these adults. This is one of the most rewarding experiences that I have ever been involved.
In addition to the care of these adults I have also presented at numerous local and regional conferences on intimate partner violence.
