Dr. Hevezi has practiced for 35 years as an independent practitioner of medical physics and is a member of the American College of Radiology Board of Chancellors and serves as Chair of the ACR Medical Physics Commission. He currently holds adjunct faculty appointments at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio as Professor of Radiology and Radiation Oncology.

Previously, he served as Director of Medical Physics at the Cancer Therapy and Research Center in San Antonio from 1991- 2005, where he introduced IMRT,
He serves in leadership positions in the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) and AAPM.
