I have been practicing anesthesiology since 2000 in St. John's NL. I became involved in simulation in 2007 primarily to start the department of anesthesiology's simulation program. I have been chair of our program since its inception in 2009. I was a Royal College examiner for the Anesthesiology Examination Committee from 2010 to 2015. During that time I was involved with the implementation of 'Simulation Questions' used during the qualification exams. I have also been involved with the Canadian National Anesthesiology Simulation Curriculum which has developed a simulation curriculum that is a summative assessment of senior anesthesia residents. I started becoming involved in simulation research in 2013 and since it has become a much larger focus of my academic time.
