Edward (Ned) Swanson, MD, is the co-founder and Chief Translational Medicine Officer at PolarityTE, Inc (Nasdaq: PTE), a biotechnology company utilizing the patient's own tissue and cells to regenerate functional tissue. He served as Chief Operating Officer and a member of the board before transitioning to his current role as Chief Medical Officer. Prior to launching PolarityTE, Dr. Swanson completed undergraduate work at the University of Pennsylvania in biomedical engineering and Harvard Medical School where he received his doctorate of medicine (M.D.). Following medical school, he pursued training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine residency program. His research interests include regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, transplant immunology, and tolerance induction, which he has studied thoroughly while at Penn, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, and now within PolarityTE.
