About

Dr. Deependra Mahato is currently Director of Neuro-Oncology at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California. Dr. Mahato focuses on the surgical treatment of primary and metastatic brain tumors, with an emphasis on motor and speech mapping during surgery. He further specializes in the treatment of patients with pituitary tumors, using a transsphenoidal endonasal approach with surgical navigation and/or endoscopic techniques and has a strong interest in treating patients with skull base tumors. Furthermore, Dr. Mahato is a prolific writer with a majority of his published work dealing with the field of neuro-oncology with dozens of peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. In addition, along with Dr. Alfredo Quiñones-Hinojosa who is the Chair of Neurosurgery at Mayo clinic he is the co-editor of the book Brain Mapping: Indications and Techniques.

Dr. Mahato received his medical degree from Western University, where he graduated with honors. Dr. Mahato then completed his residency in neurosurgery at the Riverside University in Moreno Valley, California. Her further advanced his skill and education by completing Skull base and Neuro-Oncology fellowship at prestigious Mayo Clinic under the guidance of international recognized Neurosurgeon and Chair of Neurosurgery at Mayo Clinic Dr. Alfredo Quiñones-Hinojosa.
