About

Transplant surgery and medicine has been always my career for decades. I left Egypt after medical school to pursue research training at Duke University. The Cleveland clinic is where I received general surgery training and my early transplant surgery and HPB surgery training. Their I met world class mentors who continue to guide my career today. From there I continued my training at University of Washington in Seattle where I learned how to perform adult and pediatric solid organ transplants. I left fellowship to start a kidney transplant program that quickly became of the largest in the region and the fourth best in the nation when it comes to outcomes. Collaboration was key to success. We together started a liver and a pancreas program. I most recently made a career to change to university of Utah which will serve as new fertile ground for more academic and clinical research endeavors.
