Diane Medved Harper, MD, MPH, MS is the Rowntree Endowed Chair and Professor of Family and Geriatric Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.  She has a long standing interest in women's health, cancer prevention and shared decision making.  She was the fifth woman in the history of Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth to be promoted to full professor on the basis of her clinical, research and teaching accomplishments.  She has been honored with the Excellence in Teaching award by the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, with the Outstanding Researcher of the Year by the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and with the International Woman of the Year award presented by Prix Monte Carlo Femme de l'Annee.  Dr. Harper is a mature, experienced researcher, clinician and teacher whose emphasis is on evidence based support for shared decision making at the bedside.
