Effective Presentation Skills for Posters and Workshops at Simulation Conferences.

Abstract

Workshop Topic: Research

Scholarly work is frequently displayed as poster presentations or presented as workshops at conferences. Simulation educators may have little or no formal experience in the design of posters and conduct of workshops. Likewise, feedback on their work and presentations is limited. This workshop aims to provide a framework for creation of posters and workshops. Examples from previous submissions to Sim-One and other conferences will be used for review and discussion in order to generate strategies for creating effective poster and workshop presentations.

Objectives:
1. Describe the essential components of a scientific poster
2. Describe the strategies that can be used for creating an effective poster presentation
3. Describe the essential components of a workshop
4. Describe the strategies that can be used for conducting an effective workshop
